Welcome to the Academy for Global Studies Haitian research website, a nonprofit education project designed to educate and raise awareness of all aspects of Haiti. Please click any of the tabs to the left to explore the site, including a brief description of the Haitian background since 2000, current Haitian government, Haitian migration in the United States (with a focus on Boston), Haitian culture, a list of major events, and the description of three of the main interviews used for research.
This website was designed after an educational class trip to Boston, in which patterns of Haitian immigration were studied through rhetoric, interviews, and personal experiences. The focus is not to draw attention to the students, or the class trip; rather, the focus is on Haitian ways of life and appreciation of all aspects of its culture.
Thank you for visiting!
